How to choose compression springs

How to choose compression springs

  1. Production materials

Commonly used compression spring raw materials are carbon spring wire, piano wire, stainless steel spring wire, carbon spring wire.  Excellent alloy steel wire with low plasticity and high plasticity is selected and strengthened by high temperature treatment.  Strong anti-interference ability, suitable for automobile suspension, automobile seat cushion, mechanical equipment manufacturing, stationery, pneumatic tools, electrical appliances and so on.

 2, Classification

Compression spring is divided into cylindrical compression spring, conical compression spring, concave and convex compression spring and rectangular compression spring.  Cylindrical compression springs have many uses, but other compression springs of different shapes are also used in different industries.  In everyday life, for example, rechargeable batteries connected to the negative pole of the control circuit are often secured using yellow, tapered housings.  The yellow concave surface can bear large load and has damping effect.  Suitable for pillows and mattresses.  The small shells with yellow protrusions on both sides bear more yellow loads and have larger deformation.  Rectangular frame adopts rectangular transmission line, which has large bearing capacity and long service life.  Longer than a ring.  Mainly used in metal mold, metal abrasive, hardware machinery equipment, automobile and other industries.

Methods to improve the service life of compression spring:

1. Deformation heat treatment

Deformation heat treatment is the combination of deformation and heat treatment to improve the strength and toughness of steel. Deformation heat treatment can be divided into high temperature, medium low temperature. High temperature mechanical heat treatment refers to the austenite is in a stable state after quenching, forging or hot rolling, that is, in forming hot quenching.

2. Isothermal quenching

When the diameter of the compression spring is small or the stiffness is sufficient, isothermal quenching can be used to reduce the center change and improve the strength and stiffness. After isothermal quenching, it is better to retemper to improve its elastic limit. Tempering temperature is the same as isothermal quenching temperature.

3. Heat treatment process

The compression spring is preloaded so that its deformation exceeds that which may occur when the compression spring is working. It is then heated and maintained at an operating temperature above 20 ° C for 8-24 hours.
